FAQs

How does the application process work?

We publish an online application form at the beginning of each year. Every artist must submit an application along with several images of their work, even if they have exhibited previously. New applicants are also asked to bring their work to a selection day, where we check for quality, originality and presentation.

How does the selection process work?

During the selection process, preference is given to artists based within the Wokingham Borough. Artists based further afield are considered only if there are spaces remaining. Successful artists are informed as soon as possible.

Where will my work be exhibited?

Where possible, we encourage artists to exhibit in their own studios and to run demonstrations during the trail. While visitors are always very interested to see finished work, they are usually equally keen to understand how and where artists create. We understand that exhibiting in a studio isn’t an option for all artists and have great partnerships with a number of venues in Wokingham. The committee places artists without studios into groups and provides each group with a venue.

When can I apply?

The application window for the 2025 Wokingham Arts Trail is now closed. Applications for 2026 will open early next year.
