What is the Wokingham Art Trail?
The Wokingham Art Trail provides a platform for local artists to exhibit their work within the Wokingham community and surrounding area. We strive to create a varied and interesting experience for visitors by selecting a wide range of artists who create high quality, unique and innovative work.
Further information about the artists taking part in the 2019 trail can be found here.
How does the application process work?
Application forms are made available to artists at the beginning of each year. Every artist must submit an application along with several images of their work, even if they have exhibited previously. This ensures that work included on the trail is always fresh and interesting. New applicants are also asked to bring their work to a selection day, where we check for quality, originality and presentation.
How does the selection process work?
During the selection process, preference is given to artists based within the Wokingham Borough. Artists based further afield are considered if there are spaces remaining. Successful artists are informed as soon as possible and are asked to submit the fee and information for publicity.
Where will my work be exhibited?
Where possible, we encourage artists to exhibit in their own studios and to run demonstrations during the trail. While visitors are always very interested to see finished work, they are usually equally keen to understand how and where artists make. We understand that exhibiting in a studio isn’t an option for all artists and have great partnerships with a number of venues in Wokingham. The committee places artists without studios into groups and provides each group with a venue.
When can I apply?
Applications for the 2019 Wokingham Arts Trail are now closed. We hope that the trail we design for 2019 will inspire you to want to come and be part of our next WAT.
